Summary:

The Embroidery Business Manager is instrumental in developing a winning commercial strategy to grow Dorfman Pacific’s embellished headwear business.  Additionally, the position is responsible for leadership and execution of the go-to-market, marketing, and selling strategy in this segment of our business.  The position will be a critical member of the Sales Leadership Team as we focus on sales growth overall and with embellished headwear more specifically.

Relationships:

Reports to Executive Vice President of Sales.

Duties:

  • Lead the development of a commercial strategy that will drive short- and long-term growth with embellished headwear sales.
  • Maximize golf channel sales with appropriate product assortments, selling strategies, and service requirements.
  • Complete market research and analyze results to adjust sales and marketing strategy for maximum success
  • Monitor competitors’ products, including relevant sales and marketing data
  • Create and promote key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans with Sales Team
  • Achieve annual targets, building relationships and understanding customer trends within Embroidery channel
  • Develop an Embroidery Channel operating budget for the sales division that meets business goals
  • Use available data to accurately forecast sales and set appropriate performance goals for Sales Reps
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key clients, including negotiating and closing on major contracts
  • Develop recommendations for product line extensions and enhancements for embellished product opportunities
  • Innovate to help create new decorating options for embroidery, screen-print, patches/emblems, mixed media, etc.
  • Enhance and expand import embroidery opportunities
  • Pricing and competitor analytics to help set appropriate market pricing goals
  • Embroidery website oversight, enhancement
  • Embroidery catalog update and enhancement
  • Conduit between Sales, Marketing, and IT
  • Participate in designing alignment of the DP embellishment operational organization with the strategy (Customer Service, Production, Graphics / Art).

  • Proven record of sales/business development experience, meeting or exceeding targets
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
  • Product / Service Positioning. Establish product and service positioning against competitors
  • Leadership. Ability to manage an organization by successfully coordinating staff, resources, and implementing policies and strategies effectively
  • Time Management. Works on various tasks at once and needs to be self-motivated; strong ability to prioritize tasks vital to ensure goals are met
  • Communication Skills. Communicates well with staff, stakeholders, and clients effectively.  Ability to present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Soft Skills. Effective negotiation, conflict resolution, team work, strategic thinking
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent, plus minimum of 5 years experience in embroidery or related channel
